The Snow is Gone and Spring is Here!!!

Well, it's March in Memphis, and if you know anything about Memphis weather, this time of year is often as up and down as a Jack Russell and a line of bushes (that one is for the old Abby, Rachel, if you read this). You can have snow one day and seventy degree weather the next, and that is about what we had the 1st week of March here this year! We had a great snow, which are few and far between here. This was Hannah Grace and Bennett's 1st real introduction to snow. Hannah was really not sure what to think at first, but was fascinated none the less! We bundled her up to where she couldn't put her arms down by her side (have ya seen Christmas Story??) and took her out for her first frosted adventure! We had a blast (we enjoyed it more than she did I think) and we built her 1st snow man. She would barely move (afraid of falling into the cold abyss of the strange powder) but she was very good at helping us pat the snow to make the snowman and would put her hand on the body and say "pah, pah, pah". We had to finish the snowman fast as the snow was quickly melting away, along with Hannah's patience, but we had a good fun hour out there, and even brought Bennett out for a while to take some pictures and breath in some of that fresh crisp air! He really seemed to enjoy it (but what does that boy not seem to enjoy?!?) And as we turned to look at our snow man as we were going back in the house, he was already melting away and his facial features were quickly melting off his face! So, needless to say it was shortlived, but very fun and we were thankful for the quick in and quick out of the snowfall.

Our snow man! (it was sort of a hermaphrodite snow man with the pink scarf and Memphis baseball cap, but hey we took what we could get!)

Ryan and Bennett in the snow. As my cousin Katie pointed out when she saw thes pictures, he looks like that little GloWorm toy. I thought that was quite funny and pretty accurate=)

Well sure enough, the snow melted and we have officially begun, the also sometimes too short spring here in the armpit of the US. We have a few weeks here of BEAUTIFUL weather, then while the rest of the country enjoys their beautiful weather, we are here sweating our ears off and struggling to breath in the muggy air made up of oh about 95% water. So needless to say we enjoy this weather while we can too! And the past couple weeks have been wonderful! Having a house has been great as we have been able to take the kids out to enjoy the yard, which we haven't yet been able to do! Hannah Grace LOVES to play outside! She will fuss to go out and cry when it's time to come back in!
She doesn't need any toys while out there, I wasted time and energy bringing a bunch of toys out the first time, and quickly realized this was totally unnecessary! She wants to do nothing other than just run! She will run up and down the driveway back and forth and back and forth atleast a hundred times, singing and clapping to herself constantly!
Bennett will sit out there in his walker, which he hasn't figured out how to move yet, but he will just play and watch his sister as she passes him over and over again! It is a great retreat for me since I don't get out of the house much (or more accurately, ever) and I always welcome the chance to get out and get some fresh air, or as mentioned before, as fresh as the air gets here in Memphis.

Hannah on lap 116 around the driveway, do you think she is enjoying herself?

Bennett, ah is there anything else to be said here?

Anyways, all that to say, God's creation is a glorious thing and being able to watch your children enjoy it is all the more glorious, and we try not to take it for granted!
